Message from the Board

 Holiday Greetings,

The board and employees of NEBCO Fire/EMS want to thank everyone for a great 2023!  As we finish trimming the tree and preparing for Christmas and rolling into 2024, it's only appropriate to look back at some of our accomplishments in 2023.

We saw the addition of "new" fire engine to Station #1.  Chief traveled to the Dakotas and drove the gently used engine to it's new home.  We budgeted dollars wisely and handled higher than expected repair bills for several pieces of equipment that NEBCO already owned.  NEBCO also received and put into service a new ambulance.  As the 2024 arrives, we look forward to staffing one ambulance with full time staff and the second ambulance will be staffed part time as hours/staffing allows.

In 2023, NEBCO made just over 965 runs between Fire and EMS Staff.  This month has been relatively slow and we're hoping for the Holiday Season to allow this trend to continue.  Overall, this is down slightly from last year - a fact that we're very happy to share.

Toward the end of October, the board said their sad farewells to Dave Douglas, our prior board chair.  Dave was an integral part of the NEBCO family, as was his wife, Tammy.  They were always present on the front lines for NEBCO - whether it was planning and working the Fall Festival/Turkey Shoot, or the Labor Day Breakfast - the Douglas's will be greatly missed.  Dave & Tammy sold their Beaver Lake residence and moved back to Kansas to be closer to their children and grandchildren.  Heartfelt thank you for all you both did to help NEBCO over the recent years.

We look forward to seeing you the last Saturday in February (24th) at the 2024 Chili Cookoff & Bourbon Raffle!
